What Do I Have to say about the Epic Of Epic EpicNess. It was Epic!Very elaborative am i right? No.Directed by Edgar Wright(Shaun Of The Dead)is known for making very creative films. This defintley proves that.Micheal Cera plays the title character Scott Pilgrim who is currently going out with a 17 Year Old High School Girl Knives(Ellen Wong)who is obsessed with him.He breaks up with her and enters Ramona's World(Mary Elizabeth Winstead-Final Destination 3)who has assorted hair colors every week and a half. But there's a catch(When isnt there?),Scott has to defeat Ramona's 7 Evil Ex Boyfriends(Jason Schwartzmen,Chris Evans, and Brandon Routh to name a few)in Street Fighter Style.
Now right from the start this film opens its credits with the Universal logo in Nintendo 64 Graphics and Sound
which made the crowd automatically cheering. And it's made in an unexplainable way the film.Every sound effect is in Comic Book Style which was awesome. And omg i cant even explain how awesome it was.And to top it all off i had nothing wrong with it.Nothing to really point out.
I always stick up Micheal Cera and was actually one of the people who saw Youth In Revolt this year which i actually really liked and his character Scott is the absolute most diverse character he has played in his career and also the funniest(Sorry Evan from Superbad).Winstead was pretty good as the mysterious Ramona.Wong as Knives was a character at times was likeable and at times pshyco but i kinda liked that. All of Ramona's Exes are good but most notably Brandon Routh as the vegan powered poser Todd. The scene stealers in this film are Johnny Simmons(Who people say i look like )as young neil and especially Kieran Culkin as Scott's Gay Roomate Wallace Wells. And Also Anna Kendrick was funny as Scott's Sister.
To Close my review all i have to say about Scott Pilgrim VS The World is that its mind blowing special effects and its funny as hell dialougue ,make for one of the most epic movies EVER!

Dinner For Schmucks Movie Review
This summer has been filled with tons wannabee laugh out loud comedies(Get Him To The Greek,MacGruber, and Despicable Me just to name a few). But Dinner for Schmucks directed by Jay Roach(Austin Powers Trilogy,Meet The Parents)actually lives up to the hype.
Tim(Paul Rudd)is an ambitious businessman who wants a job promotion from his boss(Star Trek's Bruce Greenwood). But the only way to do that is to invite a complete idiot to a dinner filled with other idiots competing for a trophy for the biggest schmuck hence "Dinner For Schmucks". Tim is shocked and very skeptical about doing this but a miracle from God comes and gives Tim a lonely/very goofy IRS agent Barry(Steve Carrell) who got hit by Tim's Porsche. Now i know this sounds like one the most predictable/cliched films in the history of cinema.Well it seems like it but it has Nonstop Comedy and a very well executed Heart to it that makes you automatically fall in love with it.
1 flaw i had with it was yes at times was it predictable. That's It.
For the Performances.Rudd and Carrell make the perfect comedy duo and make for some of the most outrageously funny scenes Ive seen this year.Rudd is the perfect straight man to Carrell's love able goofball. And Carrell surprises us all not by only giving us the best comedic performance in the film but actually one of the best dramatic performances too.Jermaine Clement(Flight Of The Conchords)is hilarious as Kieran the insightful(yet shocking)artist.Zach Galifinakis(The Hangover)Is a scream as Thurman, Bary's co worker and his wife's love affair. Also Kristen Schall(Toy Story 3)is really funny as Rudd's assistant Susanna. Also Ron Livingston(Office Space) and Larry Wilmore(I Love You Man) had some hysterical 1 liners as Rudd's Co-Worker's.
What i loved about Dinner For Schmucks besides that it is hysterically funny but it's also because it has some very good dramatic scenes including a heartbreaking Barry Back Story that will make you jerk a tear here and there.I also loved how freaking creative it was , especially about Barry's Mouseter-peices what at first seems really creepy, but at times the cinematography of them especially in the beginning by cinematographer Jim Denault(She's Out Of My League)is very memorable.
Overall Dinner For Schmucks is the must see comedy of not only the summer but the year.I swear this movie will have you laughing so hard you'll need an oxygen tank.

Cyrus Movie Review
From the minds of the 2 unknown indie director-brother duo Jay and Mark Duplass comes the brutally honest, poignant look at letting go Cyrus.John(John C. Riley)is a 42 year old divorcee who still grieves about his ex wife(Catherine Keener)Jamie leaving him 7 years prior. But they continue to be best friends. Now Jamie is getting married to Tim (Matt Walsh-The Hangover,Old School). But since John is having trouble with his self confidence he is dragged by Jamie to go to a party Tim and her are invited to to meet some women.Luckily John meets Molly(Marisa Tomei)and immediately they become smitten with each other.Until one day John meets Molly's strange 22 Year Old son Cyrus(Jonah Hill)who might have something up his sleeve.
Alright let me start out with the pros. The direction by the Duplass bros. is superb. The cinematography at times feels very raw and powerful. The story is executed perfectly even though you have seen this story MANY TIMES BEFORE(Cheaper By The Dozen,Mama's Boy etc.)but it is so original of what the situations are.Oh i forgot to mention how freaking funny this movie is.The Comedy in this film is WAY more satisfying than all the other comedies i have seen so far this summer(MacGruber,Get Him To The Greek, and Despicable Me).There is also a running gag in this film including a pair of White Adidas that i wont spoil. Also the chemistry between Tomei and Reilly felt really sincere.
As for the performances.Reilly gives his strongest performance Ive ever seen him give.John is a character you really relate/care for and trust me you'll be routing for him the whole time.Tomei is also great as Molly but i don't think she'll ever beat her Oscar winning performance in My Cousin Vinny.Keener finally gives a likable performance after playing the exact same character in every film she's in(40 Year Old Virgin,Percy Jackson, and Being John Malkovitch). But the absolute best performance in this film and arguably the Best performance Ive seen this year is Hill as Cyrus who better get a nomination for best supporting actor or ill do something.Hill finally breaks out of his shadow playing a character you wouldn't imagine him ever playing.
If There is a nitpick that i have with this film it is that the ending could of been less Hollywood-esq.
Cyrus is a heartbreaking/brutally honest dramedy that will have you raving about after walking out of the theater.

SALT Movie Review
OK say whatever you want but am I the only who thinks that SALT sounds like a bad ass movie title?Probably! From the director of The Bone Collector (Phillip Noyce),comes the taut thriller SALT.
Angelina Jolie is once again a bad ass as Evelyn Salt a CIA Agent who just might be a Russian spy trying to kill the Russian president(Olek Krupa ,Yeah the villain from Home Alone 3).Yeah it doesn't make any sense does it.Well it doesn't!It's an action ,performance driven, testosterone filled, mind bender with a bad script(Kurt Wimmer-Law Abiding Citizen).
Lets start with the performances.Jolie is fantastic as the very mysterious SALT who can stab your back in a blink of an eye(LITERALLY!).The underused Chiewetel Ejifor is really good as an angry CIA Agent trying to find evidence about Salt.August Diehl(Inglorious Basterds)is also fantastic as Salt's heartwarming husband. But the scene stealer is Liev Schrieber as Salt's CIA Partner Winter.
To Cover the good the score by James Newton Howard(The Happening and The Dark Knight)is phenomenal and almost as good as Hans Zimmer's score for INCEPTION.The direction by Noyce felt very Raw and realistic which i really dug. There is 1 twist near the end of the film which i did not see coming and it satisfied.
For the bad, like i said the script was pretty bad and times pretty confusing. The dialougue at times is awful but is thankfully saved by the wonderful cast.Their were some actors like Olek Krupa and Andre Braugher who were painfully underused. There were a lot of cheesy flashback scenes Salt had which were straight up awkward. And this film is left open for a sequel which i hope will be more satisfying and better written than this film.
For my closing sentence i will say that SALT is a mindless brain teaser which is a Matinee only film.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Movie Review
After stinking up the theater in May with Prince Of Persia , producer Jerry Bruckheimer(Black Hawk Down,Gone In 60 Seconds)decided to reunite with director John Turtletaub(Cool Running's,National Treasure 1 and 2)and Nicholas Cage just like the National Treasure Days, and do a film based on the short segment called the sorcerer's apprentice in Fantasia. But i now know that Bruckheimer should stick to producing these kinds of films only,Because this film was great.
Dont be misled by the previews that Nick Cage is the lead, but the title says it all its about the Sorcerer's Apprentice.Dave(Jay Baruchel)is a physics geek who when he was a kid on a field trip meets Balthazar(A Hilarious Nick Cage),a zany sorcerer searching for an apprentice to help him defeat evil Morgana from bringing evil sorcerers from the dead. But after a mishap Dave accidentally lets out Also Evil Horvath(The amazing Alfred Molina)then Balthazar traps himself and Horvath in a case and wont be let out until 10 years comes.10 years comes and Dave is found by Balthazar then shortly becomes his apprentice.
For The flaws.I thought it was a cliche that Horvath and Balthazar were best friends but not anymore because they both fall for a girl sorcerer. And yes it is at times predictable but not as much as you would expect.
For the Pros. The visuals were astounding and VERY CREATIVE!For Example Turtletaub pays omige to the short segment and makes objects move to clean up a mess.Another example is when Dave and Balthazar go into a mirror and every thing is backwards. And one more example is when Dave plays music with his coils he set up himself which was probably the best scene in the film. Also i loved the humor in this film that made me crack up so many times. Also the direction by Turtletaub was really good for a Disney film.
As for the performances, this is arguably Cage's best role(yeah i'm talking to you Con Air).He adds the perfect amount of zaniness to Balthazar that you actually thouht that he was actually a sorcerer.Critic's have been saying that Baruchel is the next Micheal Cera doing the same role over and over and over again. But you know what Baruchel does it well. It's been a good year for Baruchel now this and in March he was in She's out of My League witch i also liked. The chemistry between Cage and Baruchel felt very sincere .It's as if they were father and son.Alfred Molina once again was a scene stealer like he was in Prince Of Persia(The Saving Grace Of That film).Actress Teresa Palmer(Bed Time Stories) also has good chemistry with Baruchel as his love interest. Also Toby Kebbell as Horvath's Apprentice was a Jerk and he was barely in it so im happy(and besides he was the douche bag brother in Prince Of Persia so what would you expect!).
If you want to see a great kids summer action family comedy that will make the grown ups laugh. Then its a must see,it felt like it to me!

INCEPTION Movie Review
Now it's easy to say that Christopher Nolan is officially my favorite director. He has directed my favorite super-hero film The Dark Knight. And he has made probably my favorite film of all time Memento.Memento was released in 2000 that was 10 years ago. This time with INCEPTION he once again starts the Decade out with A BANG!
Now im BRIEFLY going to tell you the plot to this miraculous film.Cobb(Leo Dicaprio)is an expert in going into people's sub conscious stealing their ideas. But he is fed up with it and wants to go home to his kids who he cant see anymore because he is accused of a crime he didnt commit. But Saito(Ken Wantabe)gives him one last job in exchange for him seeing his kids again.Saito wants Cobb and his team(Tom Hardy,Joseph Gordon Levitt,Dileep Rao,and Ellen Page)to go in to the sub conscious of the son of the late Maruice Fischer(Pete Pothseltewaite),Robert(Cillian Murphy) Who will take over his father's cooperation.Saito wants them to perform Inception which put it simply is to go into somebody's sub conscious and plant an idea in their mind and when that person wakes they'll think that it was their idea.
The plot to this film sounds complex but luckilly this is a Christopher Nolan film.He takes the most difficult idea and makes it so simple for the audience to understand. Now the visuals in this film are ama-za-zing!The visual style of the film is accross between Nolan's own The Dark Knight and Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Also, the tension is so palpable it makes the tension in the A Nightmare On Elm Street tension look like it has the same amount of tension in Marmaduke! To help that tension be so palpable is composer Hans Zimmer(The Dark Knight,Black Hawk Down),who did the musical score. The direction by Nolan should definitley earn him an oscar. The pacing in this film is so fast and furious it was like i was in a lambrogini.
Now im not going to spoil anything but the ending was so good it kept everybody wanting more and screaming"What In The Name Of Cheese Fries Is This?"!But nontheless great ending!
For the acting,Dicaprio gave his 4th best performance behind this year's Shutter Island,Catch Me If You Can,and The Departed.Even though Gordon Levitt didnt get that much dialougue, when he did you knew that he deseverved to play Arthur.Tom Hardy was funny and debonair.Wantabe was surprisingly great.Micheal Caine was in a 2 scene cameo so i cant say much about him.Murphy gave the most surprising performance in this film.Ellen Page gave the best performance in this film and should earn her an oscar. And Marion Cotillard played the mysterious and mallicious dead wife of Cobb nailing every nuance of intimidation.
Now If Your a Die Hard Nolan fan like myself then you should just see this film right away.If your not a fan go back to your precious Transformers.

Saint John Of Las Vegas DVD Review
How in the hell did this film gross only $102,647 at the Box Office?Oh yeah,it's an indie dramedy. But how in the hell did this film get only a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes.I Mean what could be wrong with this film? With a pheonomanal cast (Steve Buschemi,Romany Malco,Peter Dinklage,Danny Trejo ect.),and Stanley Tucci and Spike Lee in the role of producing, you would expect a pretty damn good film! Well that's what I Got.
This Year They're have been SO MANY Indie Films that were phenomanal(GreenBerg,The Ghost Writer,Defendor ect.),well this definitle gets added to the list!
John(Steve Buschemi)is an auto insurance agent who lives in a gated community in Alberquerque,New Mexico.Although he's living with a secret. He's an addicted gambler.Everything from Lotto to Blackjack, the whole Schbang. When he asks his boss(The Hillarious Peter Dinklage)for a raise he is promoted to a traveling fraud debunker. He is assigned a mission along with his no bullshit partner Virgil(Bad Ass Romany Malco)to go to Las Vegas to catch a stripper for lying about getting rear ended(Emmanuelle Chiriqui from You Dont Mess With The Zohan). The reluctnant John goes to Vegas with Virgil leaving his Smiley Faced Obsessed girlfriend (Sarah Silverman)behind.
First the Pros.Malco and Buschemi make (VERY)Surprisingly the perfect team. The scenes when John is talking to his girlfriend they feel very genuine and realistic. The direction for this film was great, especially the cinematography which was breath-taking.This film also a very underated script that felt so raw and comfortable,to me at least. The musical score by David Torn(The Wackness)felt sublime and to me felt to resemble Taxi Driver's score in a repetive fashion without getting annoying.
If I had 1 thing to gripe about is that it would've been cool if Buschemi's character John actually went to a casino instead of going to a bar with a cheap black jack table. But that's it.
As for the performances , Buschemi was in his top form giving one of the best performances of his career up, there with Monster House and Reservoir Dogs.Malco adds every nuance of bad assery not taking no for an answer stchik to his character perfectly.Silverman in a very different role is scary funny in the quirkiest way especially at the end.Despite that Dinklage was in only 2 scenes he stole them very subtly and giving a Way funnier performance than he did in Death At A Funeral.Danny Trejo and John Cho give great cameo performances, especially Cho in an unreconizeable role making me laugh at everything he said.
As for director Hue Rhodes. He's was a winner and definitley deserves a chicken dinner!
