Scott Pillgrim V.S The World

What Do I Have to say about the Epic Of Epic EpicNess. It was Epic!Very elaborative am i right? No.Directed by Edgar Wright(Shaun Of The Dead)is known for making very creative films. This defintley proves that.Micheal Cera plays the title character Scott Pilgrim who is currently going out with a 17 Year Old High School Girl Knives(Ellen Wong)who is obsessed with him.He breaks up with her and enters Ramona's World(Mary Elizabeth Winstead-Final Destination 3)who has assorted hair colors every week and a half. But there's a catch(When isnt there?),Scott has to defeat Ramona's 7 Evil Ex Boyfriends(Jason Schwartzmen,Chris Evans, and Brandon Routh to name a few)in Street Fighter Style.

Now right from the start this film opens its credits with the Universal logo in Nintendo 64 Graphics and Sound
which made the crowd automatically cheering. And it's made in an unexplainable way the film.Every sound effect is in Comic Book Style which was awesome. And omg i cant even explain how awesome it was.And to top it all off i had nothing wrong with it.Nothing to really point out.

I always stick up Micheal Cera and was actually one of the people who saw Youth In Revolt this year which i actually really liked and his character Scott is the absolute most diverse character he has played in his career and also the funniest(Sorry Evan from Superbad).Winstead was pretty good as the mysterious Ramona.Wong as Knives was a character at times was likeable and at times pshyco but i kinda liked that. All of Ramona's Exes are good but most notably Brandon Routh as the vegan powered poser Todd. The scene stealers in this film are Johnny Simmons(Who people say i look like )as young neil and especially Kieran Culkin as Scott's Gay Roomate Wallace Wells. And Also Anna Kendrick was funny as Scott's Sister.

To Close my review all i have to say about Scott Pilgrim VS The World is that its mind blowing special effects and its funny as hell dialougue ,make for one of the most epic movies EVER!

Dinner For Schmucks Movie Review

This summer has been filled with tons wannabee laugh out loud comedies(Get Him To The Greek,MacGruber, and Despicable Me just to name a few). But Dinner for Schmucks directed by Jay Roach(Austin Powers Trilogy,Meet The Parents)actually lives up to the hype.

Tim(Paul Rudd)is an ambitious businessman who wants a job promotion from his boss(Star Trek's Bruce Greenwood). But the only way to do that is to invite a complete idiot to a dinner filled with other idiots competing for a trophy for the biggest schmuck hence "Dinner For Schmucks". Tim is shocked and very skeptical about doing this but a miracle from God comes and gives Tim a lonely/very goofy IRS agent Barry(Steve Carrell) who got hit by Tim's Porsche. Now i know this sounds like one the most predictable/cliched films in the history of cinema.Well it seems like it but it has Nonstop Comedy and a very well executed Heart to it that makes you automatically fall in love with it.

1 flaw i had with it was yes at times was it predictable. That's It.

For the Performances.Rudd and Carrell make the perfect comedy duo and make for some of the most outrageously funny scenes Ive seen this year.Rudd is the perfect straight man to Carrell's love able goofball. And Carrell surprises us all not by only giving us the best comedic performance in the film but actually one of the best dramatic performances too.Jermaine Clement(Flight Of The Conchords)is hilarious as Kieran the insightful(yet shocking)artist.Zach Galifinakis(The Hangover)Is a scream as Thurman, Bary's co worker and his wife's love affair. Also Kristen Schall(Toy Story 3)is really funny as Rudd's assistant Susanna. Also Ron Livingston(Office Space) and Larry Wilmore(I Love You Man) had some hysterical 1 liners as Rudd's Co-Worker's.

What i loved about Dinner For Schmucks besides that it is hysterically funny but it's also because it has some very good dramatic scenes including a heartbreaking Barry Back Story that will make you jerk a tear here and there.I also loved how freaking creative it was , especially about Barry's Mouseter-peices what at first seems really creepy, but at times the cinematography of them especially in the beginning by cinematographer Jim Denault(She's Out Of My League)is very memorable.

Overall Dinner For Schmucks is the must see comedy of not only the summer but the year.I swear this movie will have you laughing so hard you'll need an oxygen tank.

Cyrus Movie Review

From the minds of the 2 unknown indie director-brother duo Jay and Mark Duplass comes the brutally honest, poignant look at letting go Cyrus.John(John C. Riley)is a 42 year old divorcee who still grieves about his ex wife(Catherine Keener)Jamie leaving him 7 years prior. But they continue to be best friends. Now Jamie is getting married to Tim (Matt Walsh-The Hangover,Old School). But since John is having trouble with his self confidence he is dragged by Jamie to go to a party Tim and her are invited to to meet some women.Luckily John meets Molly(Marisa Tomei)and immediately they become smitten with each other.Until one day John meets Molly's strange 22 Year Old son Cyrus(Jonah Hill)who might have something up his sleeve.

Alright let me start out with the pros. The direction by the Duplass bros. is superb. The cinematography at times feels very raw and powerful. The story is executed perfectly even though you have seen this story MANY TIMES BEFORE(Cheaper By The Dozen,Mama's Boy etc.)but it is so original of what the situations are.Oh i forgot to mention how freaking funny this movie is.The Comedy in this film is WAY more satisfying than all the other comedies i have seen so far this summer(MacGruber,Get Him To The Greek, and Despicable Me).There is also a running gag in this film including a pair of White Adidas that i wont spoil. Also the chemistry between Tomei and Reilly felt really sincere.

As for the performances.Reilly gives his strongest performance Ive ever seen him give.John is a character you really relate/care for and trust me you'll be routing for him the whole time.Tomei is also great as Molly but i don't think she'll ever beat her Oscar winning performance in My Cousin Vinny.Keener finally gives a likable performance after playing the exact same character in every film she's in(40 Year Old Virgin,Percy Jackson, and Being John Malkovitch). But the absolute best performance in this film and arguably the Best performance Ive seen this year is Hill as Cyrus who better get a nomination for best supporting actor or ill do something.Hill finally breaks out of his shadow playing a character you wouldn't imagine him ever playing.

If There is a nitpick that i have with this film it is that the ending could of been less Hollywood-esq.

Cyrus is a heartbreaking/brutally honest dramedy that will have you raving about after walking out of the theater.

SALT Movie Review

OK say whatever you want but am I the only who thinks that SALT sounds like a bad ass movie title?Probably! From the director of The Bone Collector (Phillip Noyce),comes the taut thriller SALT.

Angelina Jolie is once again a bad ass as Evelyn Salt a CIA Agent who just might be a Russian spy trying to kill the Russian president(Olek Krupa ,Yeah the villain from Home Alone 3).Yeah it doesn't make any sense does it.Well it doesn't!It's an action ,performance driven, testosterone filled, mind bender with a bad script(Kurt Wimmer-Law Abiding Citizen).

Lets start with the performances.Jolie is fantastic as the very mysterious SALT who can stab your back in a blink of an eye(LITERALLY!).The underused Chiewetel Ejifor is really good as an angry CIA Agent trying to find evidence about Salt.August Diehl(Inglorious Basterds)is also fantastic as Salt's heartwarming husband. But the scene stealer is Liev Schrieber as Salt's CIA Partner Winter.

To Cover the good the score by James Newton Howard(The Happening and The Dark Knight)is phenomenal and almost as good as Hans Zimmer's score for INCEPTION.The direction by Noyce felt very Raw and realistic which i really dug. There is 1 twist near the end of the film which i did not see coming and it satisfied.

For the bad, like i said the script was pretty bad and times pretty confusing. The dialougue at times is awful but is thankfully saved by the wonderful cast.Their were some actors like Olek Krupa and Andre Braugher who were painfully underused. There were a lot of cheesy flashback scenes Salt had which were straight up awkward. And this film is left open for a sequel which i hope will be more satisfying and better written than this film.

For my closing sentence i will say that SALT is a mindless brain teaser which is a Matinee only film.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Movie Review

After stinking up the theater in May with Prince Of Persia , producer Jerry Bruckheimer(Black Hawk Down,Gone In 60 Seconds)decided to reunite with director John Turtletaub(Cool Running's,National Treasure 1 and 2)and Nicholas Cage just like the National Treasure Days, and do a film based on the short segment called the sorcerer's apprentice in Fantasia. But i now know that Bruckheimer should stick to producing these kinds of films only,Because this film was great.

Dont be misled by the previews that Nick Cage is the lead, but the title says it all its about the Sorcerer's Apprentice.Dave(Jay Baruchel)is a physics geek who when he was a kid on a field trip meets Balthazar(A Hilarious Nick Cage),a zany sorcerer searching for an apprentice to help him defeat evil Morgana from bringing evil sorcerers from the dead. But after a mishap Dave accidentally lets out Also Evil Horvath(The amazing Alfred Molina)then Balthazar traps himself and Horvath in a case and wont be let out until 10 years comes.10 years comes and Dave is found by Balthazar then shortly becomes his apprentice.

For The flaws.I thought it was a cliche that Horvath and Balthazar were best friends but not anymore because they both fall for a girl sorcerer. And yes it is at times predictable but not as much as you would expect.

For the Pros. The visuals were astounding and VERY CREATIVE!For Example Turtletaub pays omige to the short segment and makes objects move to clean up a mess.Another example is when Dave and Balthazar go into a mirror and every thing is backwards. And one more example is when Dave plays music with his coils he set up himself which was probably the best scene in the film. Also i loved the humor in this film that made me crack up so many times. Also the direction by Turtletaub was really good for a Disney film.

As for the performances, this is arguably Cage's best role(yeah i'm talking to you Con Air).He adds the perfect amount of zaniness to Balthazar that you actually thouht that he was actually a sorcerer.Critic's have been saying that Baruchel is the next Micheal Cera doing the same role over and over and over again. But you know what Baruchel does it well. It's been a good year for Baruchel now this and in March he was in She's out of My League witch i also liked. The chemistry between Cage and Baruchel felt very sincere .It's as if they were father and son.Alfred Molina once again was a scene stealer like he was in Prince Of Persia(The Saving Grace Of That film).Actress Teresa Palmer(Bed Time Stories) also has good chemistry with Baruchel as his love interest. Also Toby Kebbell as Horvath's Apprentice was a Jerk and he was barely in it so im happy(and besides he was the douche bag brother in Prince Of Persia so what would you expect!).

If you want to see a great kids summer action family comedy that will make the grown ups laugh. Then its a must see,it felt like it to me!

INCEPTION Movie Review

Now it's easy to say that Christopher Nolan is officially my favorite director. He has directed my favorite super-hero film The Dark Knight. And he has made probably my favorite film of all time Memento.Memento was released in 2000 that was 10 years ago. This time with INCEPTION he once again starts the Decade out with A BANG!

Now im BRIEFLY going to tell you the plot to this miraculous film.Cobb(Leo Dicaprio)is an expert in going into people's sub conscious stealing their ideas. But he is fed up with it and wants to go home to his kids who he cant see anymore because he is accused of a crime he didnt commit. But Saito(Ken Wantabe)gives him one last job in exchange for him seeing his kids again.Saito wants Cobb and his team(Tom Hardy,Joseph Gordon Levitt,Dileep Rao,and Ellen Page)to go in to the sub conscious of the son of the late Maruice Fischer(Pete Pothseltewaite),Robert(Cillian Murphy) Who will take over his father's cooperation.Saito wants them to perform Inception which put it simply is to go into somebody's sub conscious and plant an idea in their mind and when that person wakes they'll think that it was their idea.

The plot to this film sounds complex but luckilly this is a Christopher Nolan film.He takes the most difficult idea and makes it so simple for the audience to understand. Now the visuals in this film are ama-za-zing!The visual style of the film is accross between Nolan's own The Dark Knight and Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Also, the tension is so palpable it makes the tension in the A Nightmare On Elm Street tension look like it has the same amount of tension in Marmaduke! To help that tension be so palpable is composer Hans Zimmer(The Dark Knight,Black Hawk Down),who did the musical score. The direction by Nolan should definitley earn him an oscar. The pacing in this film is so fast and furious it was like i was in a lambrogini.
Now im not going to spoil anything but the ending was so good it kept everybody wanting more and screaming"What In The Name Of Cheese Fries Is This?"!But nontheless great ending!

For the acting,Dicaprio gave his 4th best performance behind this year's Shutter Island,Catch Me If You Can,and The Departed.Even though Gordon Levitt didnt get that much dialougue, when he did you knew that he deseverved to play Arthur.Tom Hardy was funny and debonair.Wantabe was surprisingly great.Micheal Caine was in a 2 scene cameo so i cant say much about him.Murphy gave the most surprising performance in this film.Ellen Page gave the best performance in this film and should earn her an oscar. And Marion Cotillard played the mysterious and mallicious dead wife of Cobb nailing every nuance of intimidation.

Now If Your a Die Hard Nolan fan like myself then you should just see this film right away.If your not a fan go back to your precious Transformers.

Saint John Of Las Vegas DVD Review

How in the hell did this film gross only $102,647 at the Box Office?Oh yeah,it's an indie dramedy. But how in the hell did this film get only a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes.I Mean what could be wrong with this film? With a pheonomanal cast (Steve Buschemi,Romany Malco,Peter Dinklage,Danny Trejo ect.),and Stanley Tucci and Spike Lee in the role of producing, you would expect a pretty damn good film! Well that's what I Got.

This Year They're have been SO MANY Indie Films that were phenomanal(GreenBerg,The Ghost Writer,Defendor ect.),well this definitle gets added to the list!

John(Steve Buschemi)is an auto insurance agent who lives in a gated community in Alberquerque,New Mexico.Although he's living with a secret. He's an addicted gambler.Everything from Lotto to Blackjack, the whole Schbang. When he asks his boss(The Hillarious Peter Dinklage)for a raise he is promoted to a traveling fraud debunker. He is assigned a mission along with his no bullshit partner Virgil(Bad Ass Romany Malco)to go to Las Vegas to catch a stripper for lying about getting rear ended(Emmanuelle Chiriqui from You Dont Mess With The Zohan). The reluctnant John goes to Vegas with Virgil leaving his Smiley Faced Obsessed girlfriend (Sarah Silverman)behind.

First the Pros.Malco and Buschemi make (VERY)Surprisingly the perfect team. The scenes when John is talking to his girlfriend they feel very genuine and realistic. The direction for this film was great, especially the cinematography which was breath-taking.This film also a very underated script that felt so raw and comfortable,to me at least. The musical score by David Torn(The Wackness)felt sublime and to me felt to resemble Taxi Driver's score in a repetive fashion without getting annoying.

If I had 1 thing to gripe about is that it would've been cool if Buschemi's character John actually went to a casino instead of going to a bar with a cheap black jack table. But that's it.

As for the performances , Buschemi was in his top form giving one of the best performances of his career up, there with Monster House and Reservoir Dogs.Malco adds every nuance of bad assery not taking no for an answer stchik to his character perfectly.Silverman in a very different role is scary funny in the quirkiest way especially at the end.Despite that Dinklage was in only 2 scenes he stole them very subtly and giving a Way funnier performance than he did in Death At A Funeral.Danny Trejo and John Cho give great cameo performances, especially Cho in an unreconizeable role making me laugh at everything he said.

As for director Hue Rhodes. He's was a winner and definitley deserves a chicken dinner!

Vampires Suck Movie Review

Now i can admit that i liked Epic Movie and Date Movie. But i absoluteley Loathed Disaster Movie and Meet The Spartans. Now,Does Vampires Suck get Added To the i fuckin hated it list?FUCK YES.This is of course Friedberg and Seltzer's new and not improved what they dare to call a spoof of the Twilight Franchise.Kristen Stewart look alike Jenn Proske plays Becca(Yeah not Bella.Nice Try Friedberg and Seltzer Nice Try!),she is of course a teenager full of angst now moving to Oregon with her Dad(Diedrich Bader!)after her mother is now living with Tiger Woods(Give ME A BREAK!).While shes there she is for no reaon picked on and becomes friends with Annaliese Van Der Poole from That's So Raven,Who is a totally unkilable slut. She is also quickly attached to Edward(Matt Lanter who without the make up looks Like Jacob).
You Know What im not talikng about it anymore.TOO Many missed attempts of humor.Great comedic actors whose careers are probably over once this film hits theaters next month and there will be idiodic people laughing at every second of this horrid film.
Ken Jeong how could you?
1/10

Not Only the worst film of the summer or the worst Friedberg and Seltzer Film but it is the worst film of 2010 and i confidently say will stay the worst of 2010.

Despicable Me Movie Review

Now Ill tell you i was NOT a fan of the 2 teaser trailers for this film. But , I was indeed a fan for theatrical trailer for this interesting action aniamted comedy directed by Pieree Coffin. Gru(Steve Carrell)is a lonely middle aged super villian who plans to steal the moon with the help of his old friend Dr.Nefario(Russell Brand). But in order to that he has to steal back a shrink ray from his nemisis who is also a super villian , Vector(Jason Segal). Then Gru adopts 3 very cute cookie selling orphan girls Margo,Agnes, and Edith(Miranda Cosgrove,Elsie Fichser,Dana Gaier)as distraction.
Yeah that's not creepy!
I did like the chemistry between Gru and the orphans. It did feel very sincere.SOME of the comedy did hit the target. But they were just bits and pieces. The visuals are astounding and miraculous which made me regret seeing the film in 3-D.Gru's minions(voiced by Pierre Coffin and Jermaine Clement) that were heavily marketed for this film(Best Buy,MLB Games, and freaking IHOP)were entertaining but kinda got old.
As for the flaws.Theyre were unnessary characters/suplots.Julie Andrews plays Gru's Mom and was definitley uneeded.Theyre was no point of the evil bank magager to be the father of Vector which was pretty cliched.Even though the film was 95 minutes it felt pretty boring at times. The Humor for the most part felt flat on its fictional face. Also theyre were Actors/Actressess in this film that werent even used to theyre comedic Ability(Danny McBride,Jack McBrayer,Russell Brand,Will Arnet,Kristen Wiig, and Mindy Kailing).I Give credit to Segal who was obviously improvising his dialouge to make it funnier. But the scene stealer Award goes to Carrell as Gru.You connected with his character especially when the very heartwarming scenes lighted the screen. That was defenitley one of the very few highs in this film the dramatic sequences.
But this film gets points deducted for predictability, lack of very talented comedic stars, and just overall a script that could of been something.

Knight and Day Movie Review

From the director of Walk the Line(James Mangold),comes the best action romantic comedy of the summer!June(Cameron Diaz)is a Boston mechanic trying to catch a flight back to Massachusettes, but runs into FBI Agent Roy(The hysterical and suave Tom Cruise). They have a nice chat on the plane , but while June is in the bathroom Roy kills everybody on the plane because they are agents trying to capture him. When she comes out she is shocked ,and Roy has to land the plane! He sucsessfully does and drugs her.The Next Morning June is safe in her Boston appartment, but is flapbbergasted and confused. She is caught by Roy's former partner Fitz(The evil Peter Sarragard),but then she is quickly saved by Roy after an epic car chase. They both decide to go on the run together until it is time for June to return home for her sister's(Maggie Grace from Taken)wedding. Also,Roy is in charge of protecting a genius mad-scientist(Little Miss Sunshine's Paul Dano in a zany , different role)named Simon, who created a battery that can power a small city.Like Roy says in the film"Not like your regular Duracell!".

Let Me start with the very few flaws. The 3 villians in the film didnt explain why they wanted the battery.I also felt the film should of been cut down 2 minutes.Especially the parts when Roy's parents are in it.That's pretty much it.

For the pros , right away the chemistry between Cruise and Diaz was as Cruise said in the film"Sublime!".The action scenes were very very very well directed by Mangold. Also the dialougue in this film was ama-za-zing!I also loved that the film was so fast paced. It kind felt like a cross Between The Bourne Trilogy/James Bond/and Road Trip. This film also had some really creative kills.I dont know if this was an inside joke or not but when they were getting chased by bulls they were on a RED Motorcycle.IRONIC!

For the performances,Cruise was a comedic genius. He has a distinct kind of comedy. He was kind of a wise ass in the most likeable way. This is definitley the funniest Cruise since 08's Tropic Thunder.Cameron Diaz also gives a very funny performance as June and delivers he lines very well.It was like she was in the Charlie's Angels movies again(and that's a good thing).I felt Paul Dano was VERY UNDERUSED , but in the scenes he was in he was funny as hell especially the scene were he has a Hall and Oates pin on!Peter Sarrsgard,Viola Davis, and Jordi Molla play intimidating villians.Overall the acting was great.

If your looking for a great summer action romantic comedy defintiley check out Knight and Day!Tom Cruise should be screaming"SHOW ME THE MONEY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grown-Ups Movie Review

Now when you think about great actor/director relationships you think of Dicaprio/Scorcesse or Depp/Burton,but why doesn't anyone think about Adam Sandler and Dennis Duggan. They have made 4 memorable comedies together like You Don't Mess With The Zohan,I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry(Which I Find Underated to the max!),Big Daddy, and my personal favorite Happy Gilmore. So does Grown Ups get added to the list?Surprisingly Yes!I liked it better than Zohan and Chuck and Larry. But the one big problem to this film is that there is absolutley no plot what so ever. It's just 4 SNL buddies reuniting plus Kevin James pretending to be the beloved Chris Farley, but don't worry it works.

But if i can find some story to this film, this is what i got out of it...5 basketball buddies for 30 years(Sandler,Rock,Schneider,James, and Spade)reunite for their old coach's(The Heartwarming Blake Clark)funeral. After the funeral the buddies and their families rent the summer house they visited every summer when they were little. The 5 Buds just need to chill.Lenny(Sandler)is a big shot movie producer who has the most spoiled kids imaginable and a big shot fashion Designer Wife(The annoying Salma Hyek).Kurt(Rock)is a house-husband whoose family doesnt treat him with any respect, even his pregnant wife(The very funny Maya Rudolph from SNL).Rob(Schneider)is actually the person with a normal life but is shocked when coach dies.Eric(James)is a frustrated father who has a wife(The Miscast Maria Bello who should've been Leah Remini from King Of Queens)who is obsessed with breast feeding their 4-year old son.And Marcus(Spade)who is a wise cracking un-employed loser who likes to party all the time.

Alright let me start with the cons.I think the chemistry between the husbands and wives was terrible. James and Bello have terrible chemistry.Sandler and Hayek are so mismatched it was as if Sandler and Hayek had a one night stand and had a baby then "fell in love".But Rudolpph and Rock have the best chemistry. The kids in this film are so Freakin annoying as hell.Sandler's kids complain about not havin Vos water and there is this one scene where Sandler's daughter finally finds out there isnt a tooth fairy and flips out so overdramatically.James's kids are so spoiled as well .Every time the boy was on screen he was trying to steal every scene by craving his mother's breast milk , and it got old fast.James's daughter in one scene is eating cake with her fingers and when Bello tells her niceley to use a fork she also flips out so overdramatically.Like i said there is no plot , but the comedy works for the , most part. There are unnessacrry characters in this film like Rudolph's mother who was trying way too hard to be funny. Also Scnheider's character supposedly has 3 other daughters who i felt should have not been in this film even though they were gorgeous. There jokes in this film that do fall flat like, farting in a cup, attempting to skip a rock but instead accensentally throwing it at your son's stomach, and pretending that the moths didnt die.I also felt like the ending left me unsatisfied trying to push a stupid moral at the end.The film wasnt even serious until the last 5 minutes.

For the Performances,Sandler and James were mostly funny.Rob Schneider i thought was trying to give a mostly serious performance and it kind of worked.Chris Rock (surprisingly)was painfully underused.David Spade stole every scene he was in , even though he was a one note character every scene he was in i just could'nt stop laughing.Collin Quinn plays a laughable villian who is very immature.Tim Meadows makes an hesterical cameo at the end as the other black guy.And Steve Buscehmi was hysterical in the 3 scenes he was in.Duggan's ex-wife Joyce Van Patten is actually really good as Schneider's 76 year-old wife.

Even though this film has alot of reconizable flaws it still kept me very entertained and surprised. The boys were back in town and they ceased to dissapoint.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Movie Review(2010)

Now I never saw the original A Nightmare On Elm Street, but i saw this Micheal Bay produced remake of it.Now Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy was a huge victory! The plot not so much. It's basically a pattern . Kid falls asleep then Freddy kills them. But i did respect the back story. You don't find who the main characters are until the middle of the film because everybody else dies. Those 2 main characters are Quentin(Kyle Galner from Jenifer's Body)and Nacy(Rooney Marr from one of the year's best films Youth In Revolt). The 2 misfits are sleep deprived and scared shitless, but they are still determined to stop Freddy.

Now the film started out really good and suspensful but then the stupid plot went into overdrive. The kills in this film are really creative and cool.Galner and Marr had good chemistry and made you really care for their characters.Haley stole the show as Kruger with sharp wit and nail biting suspense that made me scream in the theater "Holy SHIT!".The Ending scene was probably the best part of the film but it made NO sense what so ever!

For the flaws, i hated the fact the story made absolute no sense.Freddy doesnt kill kids who live on elm street they just happen to live there and the whole back story made sense.Allright i dont like spoilers at all but i have to for this review.Freddy was a gardener at a preschool who lived in the basement...Allright stop it right there! Why in the hell would they let a loneley 40 something dude live in a freaking basement at a day care!!!STUPIDITY!!!Anyway Freddy apparently raped the kids and the kids suddenly forgot about it!WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE CHEESE FRIES IS THIS?One thing i absoluteley hated about this film were the parents.Especially the mother of Nancy. She was contradicting herself throughout the whole film.Like in one scene Nancy is at the hospital and shes gonna be taking out by medicine to be in a DEEP SLEEP(aka shell FREAKING DIE!!!!!!!!!).So let me get this straight Nancy's Mom didnt want her to get raped but its ok if she gets killed. That last scene in the film was the best because Freddy shows up in a mirror and gouges Nancy's Mom's eyes out of her sockets, even though it didnt make any sense because didnt Nancy allready kill Freddy, but i didnt carebecause i hated the mom.But the thing that was REALLY FUNNY was that the end song was The Everly Brother's"Dream" because the film ended so subtly that when the credits started to roll i was laughing my ass off!

This remake is a remake that youll buy 2 years from now for $4 at a big lots and watch it with alot of friends for Halloween.Micheal Bay you did it again!

The Karate Kid Movie Review

Based off the 1984 classic that inspired you to not underestimate an old chineese matinience man.But after years of carbon copies (Never Back Down,Kung Fu Panda),this film of the same name directed by Harold Zwart(Agent Cody Banks,The Pink Panther 2),is a triumph!Although it should of been called "The Kung Fu Kid" because Chan and Smith in the film are practicing Kung Fu.

12-year-old Drey Parker(Jaden Smith)is moving to China because of his loud mouth mother's (Taraji P. Henson)promotion. But Right When he's there after flirting with a cute chineese girl named Meiying, this cocky douchebag Cheng kicks the shit out of Drey.So after a couple more times of getting his ass kicked,Drey's matience man Mr.Hahn(Jackie Chan)decides to teach smart alleck Drey Kung Fu.Then our remake ensues.

For the flaws. There are very few.Henson as the mother reminds me of how annoying Catherine O' Hara was in Killers times 20.There is a run on joke throughout the movie which involves Drey's jackett and Henson overeacting, which got old really quick. Also of course you will know the ending. But that does'nt stop this film from being great.

For The pros.Right from the start the cinematography was breathtaking. The fight scenes were even better than the original. The fight scenes were very suspensful at times at me saying"Oh shit"!The thing i don't understand is why people are bothered by it's 133min. run time.If you think about it it actually goes with the theme of the film. For me it felt like opening a fortune cookie and it said"Paitence makes Perfect"and honestly isn't that what Kung Fu is about. The chemistry between Smith and Chan is ama-za-zing!I really felt a father son connection between the 2.Dare i say it almost as good as the chemistry between Machio and Morita in the original Karate kid films.

As For the performances Smith was a great leading man.I could tell that he was probably watching every episode of his dad's old show Fresh Prince Of Bel Air,because he got his dad's manerrisms all down!Everything from his facial expressions to his crying , well hell,Will Smith is his dad.Ok, to put it this way,Jaden proves that he's daddy's little boy.As for Chan,he stole the show,he added every single nuance of emotion and definitley should be looked at when oscar season comes around.

So yeah this Karate Kid might not have Wax on Wax Off or that one legged kick, but for me it was the perfect Karate Kid movie, and it is among the year's best!

Toy Story 3 Movie Review

After 11 years of anticipation Disney/Pixar studios finally releases the trequel to the much beloved animated film classics Toy Story and Toy Story2!Now i found the sequel to be much more intriuiging ,emotional

, and funnier. But don't get me wrong the first Toy Story was a spectacular piece of art.In this film we are reunited with now 17 year-old Andy who has'nt played with his toys for ages. The remaining toys include Cowboy Woody(the ever so charasmatic Tom Hanks),Space Ranger Buzz Light-Year(the ever so hesterical Tim Allen),Ham the piggy bank(John Ratzenberger),Mr and Mrs Potato Head(Don Rickles and Estelle Harris),the adventourous Cowgirl Jesse(Joan Cusack)and her horse Bulls-Eye,The startled dinosaur Rex(Wallace Shawn),and the loyal Slinky Dog(Blake Clark replacing the late Jim Varney in an unreconizable swap). But sadly over the years loveable toys like Wheezy,Bo Peep,Etch a sketch, and RC have been sold at yard sales.

Now the basic plot of this brilliant film is that Andy(John Morris) is going off to college in 3 days and his mom wants him to choose what he wants to bring to college so he looks at his toys and decides to take Woody with him to college. As for the other toys they are put in a garbage bag!Smart move Andy!Which was supposed to go in the attic but after a mishap the bag ends up on a curve to get thrown out.But just in the nick of time the toys escape from the bag and go to the garage.Woody follows them to the garage and tries to explain that Andy was putting them in the attic, but they don't beleive him. Then they sneak in a box which is supposed to go to the SunnySide Community Center. When the box is dropped off at the day care center the toys are greeted by the Strawberry scented teddy Lots O' Huggin' Bear played by the marvelous Ned Beatty , and the Ken doll played by the hillarious scene stealing Micheal Keaton. When the toys are tricked into going into the very little kids room where they get thrown, spat on,sat upon ect. they decide to break out(which is impossible).

Now i had myself thinking that this film's theme song should have been "Jailbreak"by Thin Lizzy but i guess that song probably woud'nt have been for the target audience. Now right from the start the Pixar animation was breathtaking from start to finish! The direction by the former co-director of the previous 2 films Lee Unkrich was marvelous. But one thing to top that is the spectacular script by Academy Award Winning screenwriter Micheal Ardnt(Little Miss Sunshine-aka one of my favorite films).Ardnt adds the PERFECT amount of comedy and drama to the already perfect script which should earn Ardnt another Academy Award. The score by Randy Newman did'nt take over the film like it does in pretty much every Pixar film.If you thought the trailer made the film look predictable well your very wrong. This movie slaps you in the face with unpredictability! It did for me! I also loved that this film dealt with abandonment, decipt, and getting your first toy.

Like I said Keaton absoluteley stole the show.Every scene he's in is a laugh out loud scene.Especially when he brings Barbie into his humongious closet and walks in his outfits like he was a contestant on America's Top Model to Chic's "Le Freak".That scene almost made me pee my pants.Bravo Micheal Keaton!Lots O' played by Ned Beatty was the best villian of the franchise. You will feel like you did when Cristoph Waltz's character the jew hunter in Inglourious Basterds got what he got coming.Don Rickles as always had fantastic one liners. When Buzz turns spanish that was the funniest Buzz moment.

If i had one problem in this film was that there were really famous stars like Whoopi Goldberg,Jeff Garlin,Bonnie Hunt, Richard Kind, and Timothy Dalton who were just painfully underused. But that doesnt stop this film from being genius!

The brilliant ending made me balling with tears for realising that this is going to be the last Toy Story movie ever.

When i was anxiously walking into the theater for this film i thought this would be the movie of our generation... and boy was i right.

10/10 for Toy Story 3

From Paris With Love DVD Review

Last year's breakout "action" flick Taken was directed by Pierre Morell who directs my 3rd most anticipated film of Feburary behind Shutter Island and Cop-Out.But this film blew my mind with balls to the wall action, and a really amazing script by Luc Besson(The Professional,Taken).

Now Johathan Rhys Myers(August Rush) plays Reece an aspiring secret agent who finally gets his shot up in til he finds out that his new partner the trigger happy Charlie Wax played by the most bad ass version of John Trovolta is a total loon! They are trying to catch terrorists in France , something about drugs and the government , Wahh?
Yes the plot is very weak until that amazing twist!

For The Flaws it started out like a pure Luc Besson film but it was very slow moving until of couse Trovolta came in the film.Like i said the plot was very jumbled and stupid. That's pretty much it for the flaws.

For the pros. the film's cinematography was breathtaking.Like i said before the twist in the middle of the film was spectacular! The last 3/4ths of the film had some of the best action of the year! The direction by Morell is as amazing as Taken's direction. But i could tell that this film had a big enough budget to have explosion after explosion because last year with Taken there was only 1 freaking explosion which kept me satisfied but Morrell does not dissapoint with the action like i said before.

As for the performances Trovolta was ama-za-zing!This performance is just as good as Taking Of Pelham 123,and yes,PULP FREAKING FICTION.He was was hesterical, charasmatic, having fun,and don't forget kicking ass!As for Johnathan Rhys Myers he was great.I liked his chemestry with his girlfriend and Trovolta as well.

If You love full throtle action films this one is definitley for you.It was for me.One more thing!May i have a Royale With Cheese?

Get Him To The Greek Movie Review

From The Director of 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall(Nicholas Stoller) comes my 2nd most anticipated film of June behind Toy Story 3,Get Him To The Greek. Now This is a spin-off of Russell Brand's very famous or infamous portrayal of fictious Brittish Rock Star Aldous Snow.SuperBad's breakout star Jonah Hill plays Aaron an up in coming record exec., who offers the idea of having a 10 year anniversary concert for Aldous Snow at the famous Las Angeles Greek Theater.Aaron's boss Sergio(the phenomaneol Sean Combs!)loves the idea and sends Aaron to Brittan to pick up Aldous and bring him back to Las Angeles. But there's 1 tiny problem! Aldous is an alchollic heroin addict who just broke up with his longtime girlfriend Jackie Q(Rose Byrne)and just released the most controversial album of our time "African Child". Of course Aldous persuades Aaron to party hard with him and the very jumbled road trip movie ensues.

First the flaws.I thought the chemistry between Hill and Brand was very very rushed and did'nt feel sincere enough until the end. Also the whole subplot with Brand trying to reconnect his relationship with his father(Con Air's Colm Meaney)was so unnessacarry.
Another subplot i didnt like was his weird relationship with Jackie Q and finding out that his son isnt really his!Oh get over it i spoiled it!!!!NBC's Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari was very underused. Also , the editing was horrifficly choppy.Writer - Director Stoller focussed too much on the comedy writing than the actual story. That's why i found Forgetting Sarah Marshall to be painfully unforgettable. But i have to give him credit for actually writing funny humor.

For the performances Hill was fabulous Aaron giving a very real poignant performance like he did in SuperBad.I found Brand at times to be very freakin' annoying but don't get me wrong he was still funny.Like i said before Sean Combs was spectacular!Stealing every scene of dialougue written like he was a comedic genius.Colm Meany like i said was unnessacrry and just really unkikeable.

Now as a regular film it's pretty bad.But im grading it for it's funnieness.Cop-Out,Date Night,She's Out Of My League, and Hot Tub Time Machine i found were better films.I shall grant Get Him to the Greek a very dissapointing ...
